| Product Description |
Cape Cod has attracted and nurtured artists and craftsmen since the early 1800s. Artist Anne C. Ross draws inspiration from the gardens, beaches, and vistas surrounding her Harwich studio, and her "Peaceful Cove" pattern depicts a classic New England seaside view as ships sail past a tall white-washed lighthouse.
Using powdered glass, Ross sifts her design onto pieces of window glass following a series of hand-cut stencils. Once decorated, a second piece of glass is placed on top, and the glass-enamel-glass layers are placed in a ceramic mold. The mold is kiln-fired, allowing the glass to soften and take the shape and texture of the mold, and giving a softened, watercolor-like edge to the designs. After cooling overnight, each piece is cleaned, ground, and signed by the artist.
Product Details
The glassware can be used as dinnerware, objects d'art, in bathrooms and on vanities, displayed in windows, and enjoyed for the beautiful, practical pieces they are. The glass is dishwasher safe, but not microwavable.
